"Annie L. Adams, one of Fairfield's oldest pioneers, died yesterday morning at her home, one mile south of town. Mrs. Adams was afflicted with a tumor and had been in ill health for the past year. Although reaching the advanced age of 77 years, "Grandma" Adams had been unusually active for a woman of her years and prior to her late illness was an almost daily visitor in town, where her familiar presence will be greatly missed. Her residence in Fairfield and vicinity dates from 1881. Funeral services will be held from the residence at three o'clock today and burial made in the Rockford cemetery. An extended account of her life will be in next week's issue of the Standard."
