Mr. Thomas Lynn Rossi, P.E. age 79 of Whitesboro, passed away on Friday November 30, 2007 at St. Lukes Hospital. He was born on November 28, 1928, in Pittsburgh, PA a son of the late Thomas and Agnes McDermott Rossi. He received his professional education from Carnegie Tech. and was employed early on as an Electrician, and later as a Professional Electrical Engineer. Tom moved to the Utica area in 1983 and was employed by Stetson/Harza. In 1986 he and his late wife opened their own Consulting Engineering business, Rossi/Pete Associates, which he owned and operated until 2005. Mr. Rossi was a brilliant man. He was involved in the development of many Hydro Electric facilities in New York State and was respected by many as a talented Engineer. Mr. Rossi served his country in both the Korean War and World War II, in the branches of the Navy and Army. On November 30, 1948, he was united in marriage with Cecelia Fredrick. This union produced three sons: Thomas, Joseph and John Rossi. His second marriage to Patricia Like, lasted for 36 years until her untimely death in 2002. Tom and Pat had one daughter, Cheryl Lynn Rossi-Walczak. He was most recently married to Linda Gambino, on June 10, 2006. Thomas was a member of Sacred Heart Parish and served as an Usher for many years. He was also a member of the Elks and a Liaison for the American Red Cross, Rights for Senior Citizens. He enjoyed vacation and travel with his family and friends. He was A wonderful ballroom dancer, and a fan of Frank Sinatra. For all who knew him and knew him well, when you hear the song, "I Did it My Way", think of Tom, it sums his life up completely. Surviving are his wife Linda, and her children Michelle and Andy; his three sons, Tom (Kathy) Rossi, Joe Rossi, and John (Elizabeth) Rossi, six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren, all from the Michigan; locally his daughter, Cheryl Walczak, his "Son"-In-Law, Frank Walczak, and their children, Alexandra and Frankie: one brother Jim (Sally) Rossi from R.I., several nephews, one niece and his Dog, Summer. His funeral will be held on Monday morning at 9:00 a.m. from The Scala & Roefaro Funeral Home Inc. 1122 Culver Ave. and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, New York Mills. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Sunday (today) from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family wishes to thank all the friends and family through the years for their kindness, love and support, and most recently, his caretaker and respiratory therapist Kim Zammiello.
