Laura June Franklin, 85, a resident of the Care Center of Abingdon, died at 4:10 pm Saturday, April 29, 2006 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg.She was born on June 1, 1920 in Abingdon to Harley and Eliza Bozman Stegall. She married Harold Grice. She then married Thomas Perry. She married Ed Purdue. She later married Donald Franklin on Nov. 1, 1969 in Abingdon. He preceded her in death on January 3, 1986. Surviving are three daughters, Sheryl (and Tom) Spencer of Ft. Myers, FL, Vicki (and Dan) Hare of Denver, CO and Valerie (and Bill) Henning of Abingdon; two stepsons, John (and Audrey) Franklin of Galesburg and Keith Franklin of Peoria; two brothers, Ronald (and Patricia Anne) Stegall of Naples, FL and Roger (and Annette) Stegall of Abingdon; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Rev. M. Annette Faull and Eleanor Landon will officiate. Burial will be in the Abingdon Cemetery.
