She was born in Blacky, Va., on May 21, 1927 to the late James H. Stacy and Meda Justice Stacy. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Wilma Opal Bailey, and two brothers, James Stacy Jr. and Donald Stacy.
She was a member of Goodwill Baptist Church for 42 years where she taught Sunday school classes for 30 years. She was a graduate of Concord University where she received her degree in teaching. She gave her life to teaching others, beginning her career in Panther, W.Va., where she taught for 17 years. She was a first grade teacher at Sanville Elementary for 30 years, and retired in 1992 from the Henry County School system.
Surviving are her husband, Lindsey Branham of the home; one daughter, Susan Branham of Patrick Springs; two sisters Corba Wilkes of Roanoke and Kathleen Robinette of Man, W.Va., and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at Howell Funeral Home in Patrick Springs with Pastor David Bishop officiating. Burial was in Patrick Memorial Gardens.
