A line cook at the River Queen in Port Allen and Benedetto's in Addis, Dardonelle Marie "Dottie" Alexander died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2007, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 50 and a resident and native of Port Allen.
Visiting at Hall Davis and Son Funeral Home, Port Allen, until service conducted by Terry Hasten, pastor. Dismissal with interment in Lady of Knight Cemetery, Port Allen.
She is survived by her parents, James Bessye Jr. and Cordelia "Theresa" Freeman; two sons, Tori Alexander and Christopher Alexander; godson, Jamie; two sisters, Vanessa T. Bessye and Elizabeth "Charmaine" Washington; five brothers and sisters-in-law, Augustus J. and Erica Bessye, Joe E. Jr. and Bertha Faye Freeman, Lester C. and Carmen Freeman, John F. and Carissima Freeman, and Timothy G. and Tameshia Jackson; and two aunts, Thelma Taylor and Doris K. Bird.
Preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Edward Mason Sr. and Curley B. Mason; and paternal grandparents, James Bessye Sr. and Mary Nell Bessye.
