The burial of Infant Baby Beard of William C. Beard and Mary Jane Beard marked the first in what would become the Beard Family Cemetery on the W. C. Beard land grant just East of present day Granger, Texas in Williamson County. The Beard Cemetery was moved from that location to beside the Granger City Cemetery in about 1976/7 by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in preparation of the formation of Granger Lake by Laneport Dam in Williamson County.
