Mrs. Hansen, 59, Of Lovell, Dies

LOVELL, Wyo. -- Mrs. Hazel Afton Hansen, 52, of Lovell, died accidentally Friday in her garage of asphyxiation, according to coroner J.C. Atwood of Basin.

She was born Dec. 25, 1912, at Vernal, Utah, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Porter Goodrich and she had lived in Lovell 39 years. She was married to Loran Hansen, March 17, 1961, at Las Vegas, Nev.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints at Lovell.

She is survived by the widower and four sons by a former marriage: Lyle Moncur of Lewistown, Don J. Moncur of Powell, Wyo., R. Merrill Moncur of Columbia Falls, Max Moncur of Libby; a step-mother, Mrs. Eldona Goodrich of St. George, Utah; six sisters, Mrs. Paul Bassett of Lovell, Mrs. Doris McKina of San Fernando, Calif., Mrs. Lamar Caldwell of Vernal, Utah, Mrs. Dona Lee Cook of
Laramie, Wyo., Mrs. Joanne Cannon of Bountiful, Utah and Mrs. Gay Childs of Nyessa, Ore., four brothers, Vernal Goodrich of Medford Ore., Grant Goodrich of Lovell, Gary Goodrich of Lancaster, Calif., and Bruce Goodrich of Salt Lake City, Utah, and 15 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Monday, at the Lovell LDS Chapel with Bishop Elmer Stevens officiating. Burial will be at Lovell Cemetery. Haskell Funeral Home is in charge.

Hazel Hansen Dies at Home

Mrs. Hazel Afton Hansen, 53, died at her home early Friday morning. she was born Dec. 26, 1911 at Vernal, Utah, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Porter Goodrich. She had been a Lovell resident for 39 years, and was a member of the LDS Church.

Funeral services were held Monday morning in the Big Horn Stake Center.

Bishop Elmer Stevens conducted the services at which Wilmer Nicholls delivered the sermon. Grand Goodrich, a brother of Mrs. Hansen's, read the obituary.

Musical selections were sung by her daughters-in-law, Elaine, Sue and Mary Alice Moncur; the Welch brothers and the Lovell Third Ward Singing Mothers. Miss Loretta Bischoff played the organ prelude and Norma Cutler directed the Singing Mothers.

Paul Bassett and Ron Hansen offered the invocation and the benediction, and Dilworth Jolley dedicated the grave at the Lovell cemetery. Haskell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Hansen is survived by her widower, Loren L. Hansen; four sons, Lyle V. Moncur of Livingston, Mont., Don J. Moncur of Powell, R. Merrill Moncur of Columbia Falls, Mont. and Max G. Moncur of Libby, Mont.; her mother, Mrs. Eldona Goodrich of Lovell; six sisters, Mrs. Paul Bassett of Lovell, Mrs. Doris McKenna of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. LaMar Caldwell of Vernal, Utah, Mrs. Donna Lee Cook of Laramie, Mrs. Gay Childs of Nyessa, Ore. and Mrs. Joan Cannon of Bountiful, Utah; four brothers Vernal Goodrich of Medford, Ore, Bruce Goodrich of Salt Lake City, Utah, Gary Goodrich of Lancaster, Calif., and Grant Goodrich of Lovell; and 15 grandchildren.

Carbon Monoxide Clams Lovell woman's Life

LOVELL -- Mrs. Loren L. Hansen, 52, of Lovell died at her home Friday at 2:30 a.m. Big Horn County Coroner J.C. Hitchcock listed the cause of death as accidental carbon monoxide poisoning. Mrs. Hansen had apparently been putting her car in the garage when overcome by exhaust fumes.

She was born Dec. 25, 1912, in Vernal, Utah, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Porter M. Goodrich. She was married to Loren L. Hansen of Las Vegas, Nev., March 17, 1961.

Mrs. Hansen had been a resident of Lovell for 39 years and was a member of the LDS church.

Survivors include her widower; four sons, Lyle V. Moncur of Lewistown, Mont., Don J. of Powell, R. Merrill of Columbia, Falls, Mont., and Max G of Libby, Mont.; six sisters, Mrs. J. Childs of Nyessa, Ore. The opening prayer was by Paul Bassett. Grant Goodrich gave the obituary. Hazel's favorite Christmas song "White Christmas" was sung by her daughter-in-laws, Elaine, Mary Alice and Sue Moncur. Ford, Art, Scott and Klaes Welch sang, "Jesus, My Savior True," President Wilmer Nicholls was the speaker. "Away in a Manager" was sung by the Third Ward Singing Mothers.

Ronald Hansen gave the closing prayer. D. H. Jolley dedicated the grave. Burial was in the Lovell cemetery with Haskell funeral home in charge of arrangements.

She married Vernon Wilder Moncur January 28, 1928 in Lovell, Wyoming.

Her second husband was Loran Lafayette Hansen who she married on March 17, 1961.
