Howard Ferguson

Howard A. Ferguson, 91, of Route 2, Blueford, died 3:20 p.m. Sept. 25, 1999, at the home of his daughter Wilma Grothoff at rural route Bonnie.

Mr. Ferguson retired from Mt. Vernon Shoe Factory after many years in the maintenance department.

He was born Oct. 6, 1907, in Jefferson County to Ezra and Mae (Hicks) Ferguson. He married Ila Reynolds, and later married Gladys Malone Hulbert; both preceded him in death.

Graveside services were to be 1 p.m. today at Black Cemetery in the Long Prairie community, with the Rev. Everett Lemay officiating. Hughey Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Ferguson is survived by daughters . . . [two]; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother Harl Ferguson of Salem; sister Loretta Raines and husband Cecil of Bonnie; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wives, Mr. Ferguson was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Alson and Dalton; and four sisters, Eithel, Winnie, Venetta and Pearl.
