Mrs. Best, a resident of Springfield most of her life, worked as a secretary for Church of the Little Flower for 33 years. She was a member of Church of the Little Flower, where she had been a board member of the Little Flower School Scholarship Fund and was a member of South Side Senior Card Group.
Survivors: a brother, Ralph J. May of Springfield; a sister, Mary Lewis of Springfield; five nieces; two nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Concelebrated Funeral Mass: Church of the Little Flower. Burial: Calvary Cemetery.
