Mary Myrtle Allen, 91, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2002 in the Fisher County Hospital, Rotan, Texas. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Rotan Church of Christ with Wendell Whittenburg officiating. Burial will be in Belview Cemetery, Rotan. Services directed by Weathersbee Funeral Home.
Mary was born to Joe and Fannie (Thomas Wright) Nunn on February 14, 1911 in Fisher County. She was the youngest of 12 children, all whom preceded her in death.
Mary lived in Fisher county all of her life. She married Jack Allen November 14, 1928. Together they owned Jack Allen's station in Rotan, Texas for over 60 years. Nannie will be greatly missed by her loving family.
Mary was preceded in death by husband, Jack Allen, an adopted daughter, Karen, grandson-in-law, Herschel Shipp, and 12 siblings, Blanche Mitchell, Annie Jones, John Nunn, Joe Nunn, Lucy Whittenburg, Chalrie Nunn, Ruth Spruiell, Julia Headrick, Pete Nunn, Fannie Bonner, and Clyde Nunn.
Survivors include one daughter, Irene (Sophie) Knight and husband, D.L. of Rotan, Texas; three grandchildren, Sue Carrillo and husband Luis of Rotan, Craig Knight and wife, Marilynn of Azle, TX, Dicky Knight and wife Charlotte of Porterville, Mississippi; six great-grandchildren, Buffy Corn and husband, Kelly, of Baird, TX, Jason Knight and wife, Selina of Wetumpka, Alabama, Aaron Knight and wife, Brandy of Azle, Texas, Jeffery Knight of Tusculoosa, Alabama, Amy Knight of Denton, Texas, Sahah Knight of Porterville, Mississippi; four step-granddaughters, Veronica Garcia and husband, Manuel of Snyder, Nina Carrillo of Santa Barbara, California, Elisa Trowbridge and husband, Doug, of Goleta, California and Sonia Carrillo of Lubbock, TX; four great-great- grandchildren, Nathan and Paige Knight of Wetumpka, Alabama, Kade and Kloe Corn of Baird; one great-greatgrandchildren, Crystal Garcia of Snyder.
