ROBERT A. "Bob" ADAMS, 83, of High Springs passed away peacefully Saturday, Nov. 18, 2006 after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Adams was born in Holt, Florida. He was a lifelong resident of this area. He was retired from Bob Adams Used Cars at North Main Street and Northeast 23rd Avenue - a business he owned and operated for many years. He was of the Pentecostal faith. Mr. Adams was a Navy veteran and was part of a mine sweeper crew in the South Pacific during WWII.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Adams, and a son, Edsel Adams, and is survived by his children, Bob Adams Jr., Juanita Fort, Bennie Watson, Bonnie Essex and Brenda Cowart. He is survived by a brother, Hugh Adams.
He also is survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Arrangements are under the direction of William Thomas Funeral Home in Gainesville, Fla. Funeral services were held in the Chapel of the Chimes at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov 21, 2006. Rev. Jeff Arnold and Rev. Wayne Hinote conducted the service. Burial was at Memorial Park East. The family received friends on Tuesday, Nov. 21 at 10 a.m.
