Albert R. Genovese Sr., 73, died Sept. 25, 1998.

He was a native of Boston and a resident of Port St. Lucie for two years, coming from Cape May, N.J., and Gloucester, Mass.

Prior to retirement, Mr. Genovese was a commercial fisherman and boat captain.

He was a member of St. Lucie Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie. He was a member of the Cape May County Men's Republican Club, the Lower Township Republican Club and St. Peter's Club, all in New Jersey.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Manning Genovese of Port St. Lucie; sons Albert R. Genovese Jr. of Gloucester, Mass., Anthony P. Jr. and Bruce J. Oreo, both of Port St. Lucie, and Craig S. Oreo of Norfolk, Va.; daughters Donna H. Koller of Gloucester, Mass., Karenlee H. Oreo of Norfolk, Va., and Laurenlee K. Shaffer of Port St. Lucie; 12 grandchildren; brothers Anthony and Michael Genovese, both of Cape May, N.J., and Paulie Genovese of Gloucester, Mass.; and sisters Josie Carrio, Cathy Baptista, Nancy Clooney and Antonette Harrison, all of Gloucester, Mass., and Mary Axelsson of Cape May, N.J.

Mr. Genovese was preceded in death by his brother, Augustas and Ralph Genovese; and sisters Ursela Bono and Vita Lane.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Martin and St. Lucie Inc., 2030 S.E. Ocean Blvd., Stuart, FL 34996.

SERVICES: Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Yates Funeral Home in Port St. Lucie, where a wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Lucie Catholic Church. Burial will follow at White City Cemetery.
