Funeral services for Arthur E. Aagesen, 84, who died at Hillside hospital
in Beaver Dam, Wis. April 8, were held April 10 at First Lutheran church
here with the Rev. Stephen Engelstad officiating.
Arthur E. Aagesen was born February 19, 1897 in St. Ansgar, the son of
Dr. and Christine (Carlson) Aagesen. He was baptized and confirmed in First
Lutheran church here. He was graduated from St. Ansgar high school, and
November 23, 1922 he married Albina Cafourek in Lyle. One daughter was born
to them.
For many years he was employed as a road grader in Mitchell county. From
1935 to 1948 the Aagesens lived in London, Minn., returning to St. Ansgar
in 1948. Last December Mr. and Mrs. Aagesen went to live with their
son-in-law and daughter in Beaver Dam, Wis. Mr. Aagesen entered the
hospital there March 17.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Carl, John
and Walter. He is survived by his wife, Albina; his daughter, Mrs. Kenneth
(Marie) Kittleson of Beaver Dam, Wis.; five grandchildren and five great
grandchildren; nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Burial was in First Lutheran cemetery with Rev. Engelstad in charge of
the committal services.
