Gladys Helton Bailey, 83, died Wednesday, October 7, 1998 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital. Born September 14, 1915 in Wolfe County, she was the daughter of the late John Wesley and Louise Ead Lane Helton. She was a homemaker and a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church. Survivors include: three sons, Harold Gene Hendren, Danny Franklin Bailey and Robert B. Bailey, all of Harrodsburg; one brother, Steve Helton, San Antonio, TX; two half brothers, Virgil Helton and John Wesley Helton, both of Dayton, OH; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Salyer of Ezel; one half sister, Judy Helton Long of Willington; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, W. S. "Doc" Bailey, and one sister, Mrs. Artie H. Rose. Funeral services were held Saturday, October 10, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Dr. Robert DeFoor officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
