"Joe" was a retired parcel postman for the U.S. Postal Service. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in special forces. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans Morrisett Post in Quincy, MA. He was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers Branch 34 in Quincy and Branch 1A in Nalcrest. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lorna Gamble Barrett, and by three sons, Joey Barrett, Paul Barrett and David Barrett. He is survived by his present wife, 2 daughters, a sister, 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
