Words do not really express the value of a man or his life. The man we call Ray, honey, dad, grandpa or friend is a man of virtue and integrity. He passed away Monday, November 12, 2007 surrounded by his loving, caring family, after a brief battle with Bladder Cancer.

His life began December 1, 1929 in Pocatello, ID. The eldest son of Clain Brown Baxter and Irene Ruth Powell. He grew up in SLC, UT learning the value of work. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. Married Barbara (Bobbie) Durrans, March 3, 1952. Was an active member of the Little Cottonwood 6th Ward for 49 years. He was a typesetter for 23 years then a salesman for Twirl Town Toys.

The father of six children, Linda (Brad) Tranter, David Mark (Deceased), Brian (Ronda, deceased), Sharon (Paul), Susan (Brian) Dalling, Lance (Jenny), 18 wonderful and caring grandchildren, three great grandchildren, brother Lynn Baxter (Carol, deceased), sister Joan (John Marvin) Peay, and many friends. We express our gratitude to Love Hospice Care, Rob his nurse, and all others who contributed to his comfort. Special expressions of love and gratitude to his children and grandchildren who lovingly spent the last week caring for his needs.

Please join us in celebrating his life on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2007 at Brownstone Chapel (6410 So. 725 E.) at 10 a.m. Friends and family may call Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007 from 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State Street and on Thursday from 8:45-9:45 a.m. at the church.
Interment at Murray City Cemetery.
