Blair, Clifford Edison

Clifford Edison Blair, born February 26, 1918, in Dickens County, Texas, died in a local hospital on December 27, 2004. He was the son of John Francis Blair and Elsie Lora Young. He was preceded in death by Marie Muriel Bloomer Blair and Doris Stockton Blair as well as two sisters and two brothers. Mr. Blair is survived by one son, Clifford Edison Blair, Junior and wife Peggy and their children and grandchildren. Also survived by daughter, Shirley Roberta Blair, and grandson, John David Blair. Other survivors include stepdaughters, Shonnie Morris (Bill) and Nancy Hefner; and stepson, John Stockton (Holly) and their children. C.E. Blair served as an army medic in World War II. After returning from the service, he attended UT-Austin studying architecture and later became an aerospace engineer. Mr. Blair was instrumental in working on the lunar module project. Clifford was an active member of Fairview Church of Christ and will be remembered by family and friends as a gentle Christian man. Services at Austin Peel and Son Thursday, December 30, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. George McCall to officiate. Visitation Wednesday, December 29, 2004, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Burial Austin Memorial Park.
