Son of Hilda and Howard Post, Gordon D. Post, 62, of Springfield died Friday, April 30, 1999, at Sunrise Nursing Home, Carlinville.
He was born March 1, 1937, in Springfield, the son of Howard S. and Hilda C. Smith Post. He married Sharon L. Beavens in 1961 in Springfield.
Mr. Post was employed with City, Water Light and Power, retiring in 1996 after 28 years of service. He was formerly employed with Central Illinois Light Company for seven years.
He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 193, longtime member of Elks Lodge 158, 1956 graduate of Springfield High School, attended Western Illinois University and served in the Illinois National Guard.
Survivors: wife, Sharon L.; a son, Kevin B. Post of Springfield; a daughter, Karon K. Post of Springfield; mother, Hilda C. Post of Springfield; a brother, Donald B. Post of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services: Mass, Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, the Rev. John Ossola officiating. Burial: Calvary Cemetery.
