Funeral services were held at the Bethel Church, July 24th at 3 p.m. for Anderson Austin, age 79, who died at his home in Kilmichael.

The deceased was the son of the late Anderson and Martha Bramlet Austin, pioneer settlers of the Kilmichael and Winona Community. He was a member of the Poplar Creek Baptist Church. He was owner of gins in Stewart and Kilmichael and a prosperous farmer and civic leader.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Henrietta Austin, Kilmichael; five daughters, Mrs. W.L Crook, Moorhead; Mrs. George Booth, Mrs. Lamar Fultz, of Kilmichael; Mrs. Elizabeth Corley and Mrs. John Erwin of Grenada; Five sons all of Kilmichael; Henry, C.E., W.A., Bryant and Noah Austin; three Sisters, Miss Mattie Austin of Winona; Mrs. Belle Love of Kilmichael; one brother, H.M. Curtis.
