Frances Jane Lemmons was born at Augusta City, Bath County, Virginia, the Daughter of James and Elizabeth Catherine "Betsy" Jackson Lemmons. She married William Sherman Brady in a double ceremony on 5 Jan 1842 at Lewis County, and the newly married couple settled on a farm beside the waters of French Creek (KINFOLK). Over the following 25 years William and Frances welcomed [at least] 13 children into the world:
