Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Llano Cemetery with Sherman Eastland, pastor of The Gathering at Bethel, officiating.
Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Barrett was born March 21, 1947, in Bakersfield, Calif., to William G. and Lavada Pelham. She married Lewis Barrett on July 16, 1965, in Amarillo.
Mrs. Barrett held her family dear and her world revolved around them. She opened her heart to others and served as a foster mother. She and Lewis, along with Sherman Eastland, worked together with church youth groups. Mrs. Barrett enjoyed arts and crafts. Bowling was also a favorite activity.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Survivors include her husband, Lewis Barrett of Amarillo; a son, Jason Barrett of Amarillo; her mother, Lavada Pelham of Amarillo; a sister, Elaine Pope of Henderson, Ark.; and three nieces, Shanean Graham of Savannah, Ga., and Laci Elgin and Belinda Venhaus, both of Amarillo. The family suggests memorials be to the National Kidney Foundation, 6141 W. Amarillo Blvd. Amarillo, TX 79106 or the American Diabetes Association, Potter/Randall Chapter, P.O. Box 50433, Amarillo, TX 79159.
