Daughter of Warren Cheney Snow and Catherine Annette Crawford

Married Milton Lynn Bennion, 1 Sep 1927, Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah

Obituary. The Salt Lake Tribune, Salt Lake City, UT, Monday, Jun 26, 1995, pg 32:

"Katherine Snow Bennion, 90, passed away at home on June 24, 1995.

"She was born September 18, 1904, in Manti, Utah, to Warren C. and Catherine Crawford Snow. She married M. Lynn Bennion in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on September 1, 1925.

"She was a woman of uncommon optimism and good cheer. Her interests and enthusiasm were boundless and infectious. Those close to her were constantly inspired and encouraged by her positive outlook on life and her implicit faith in the goodness and resiliency of the human spirit.

"Her keen sense of beauty was reflected in her home and in her garden which she continued to cultivate well into her 80's. Her way was to light candles rather than to curse the darkness. While her family was her central concern and commitment, she gave freely of her time, energy and talents to service in her community and church. Her circle of friends was large and diverse, reflecting her love for people and her remarkable capacity to share feelings, ideas and interests.

"She graduated from the University of Utah in 1926 and taught elementary school and seminary. She was active in the LDS Church and served in ward and stake callings as well as on the Primary general board. She was president of the Civic Center, the Salt Lake Council of Women, and the State Legislative Council and was a member of the Symphony Guild, the U of U Theater Guild, and the Fine Arts, Garden, Shakespeare, piano clubs and several book review clubs.

"She is survived by her husband and her four children, Annette (Don) Clark, Ventura, Calif; Carolyn (Howard) Heaton, Provo; John (Sylvia) Bennion, Salt Lake City; Rebecca (Rayden) Glade, Salt Lake; 18 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; sister, Laura Johnson, Menlo Park.

"Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 28, 1995, 12 noon at the Eleventh Ward Chapel, 951 East 100 South. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 East 1300 South, and one hour prior to services at the ward. Interment, Wasatch Lawn, 3401 South Highland Drive."
