Elsie, the daughter of Rev.Nathan Miller Moore and Lucinda Parthenia Tatum Moore, was born in Hickman Co. TN and moved to Alabama with her parents and younger sister, Ethel, in the late 1890's. They lived first at Ivy Bluff and moved to Neel in 1901.
She married Claud Edward McCormick on December 6, 1917. They lived in Lawrence Co. AL for the first years of their marriage and moved to the Neel Community in Morgan County in the 1930's near Elsie's widowed mother.
Elsie was an accomplished seamstress, cook and gardener. She worked alongside her husband on their farm shouldering much of the heavy farm work although she was not a large or strong woman. She died at age 67 in Neel, Alabama.
