Charlie Eugene "The Plumber" Wilson, 71, 1516 Jackson, died Friday at Grande Ronde Hospital. Wilson was born on Dec. 20, 1902 at McCook, Neb., the son of Allen and Briggie Wilson. They moved to La Grande from Nebraska in 1913. On Aug. 10, 1924 he was married to the former Billie Hunter at La Grande. Survivors include his wife Billie Wilson of La Grande; two sons, Earl of La Grande and Edwyn of the U.S. Navy; three daughters, Mrs Glen (Eleanor) Campbell of Imbler: Mrs. David (Betty) Smith of La Grande; and Evelyn Wagner of La Grande; 14 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two brothers, Jim of Paramount, Calif., and Tom of Pendleton; a sister, Alice Oliver of Salem; and other relatives. Grave side funeral services will be held on Thursday 11 a.m. at the Island City Cemetery, Union County, Oregon, Island City, Union County, Oregon with Father Timothy B. Collins officiating. Those who wish may make contributions in memory of Charles E. Wilson to the Cancer Research Fund, P.O. Box 386 Garabaldi, Oregon 97118 or they may be left at Daniels Valley Funeral Chapel. Friends may call at Daniels Chapel Tuesday and Wednesday until 9 p.m. and on Thursday until 10 a.m.
