Wayne Coleman
Wayne E. Coleman, 66, of Minerva Street, was pronounced dead on arrival Friday afternoon at City Hospital. He had been in failing health several years.
He was born in East Liverpool, Nov. 24, 1921, a son of the late Everett David Coleman and Mrs. Hazel Rice Coleman Russell of East Liverpool.
A lifetime area resident, he was a conductor for the former Pennsylvania Railroad.
An Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Coleman was awarded the Bronze Star. He was a Protestant by faith.
His wife, Betty E. Coleman, whom he married Feb. 14, 1942, died July 27, 1975.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by three sons, Gary W. Coleman and Ronald A. Coleman, both of East Liverpool, and Clyde B. Coleman of Tampa, Fla.; three daughters, Mrs. Charles (Carolyn) Capehart of Wellsville, Mrs. Diana Lynn Torres of Lacoochee, Fla.; and Mrs. Rick (Deborah) Thorne of Port Richie, Fla; six sisters, Mrs. William (Ruth) Irwin, Mrs. Robert (Helen) Plummer, Mrs. William (Dorothy) Eynon, Mrs. Patricia Curry and Mrs. Charlene Higgins, all of East Liverpool, and Mrs. Junior (Violet) Groves of Ohioville, Pa.; a stepsister, Mrs. Carolyn Coleman Campbell of Marietta, Ohio; five brothers, Lawrence Coleman of Chester, W. Va., and Jerry Coleman, Jack Coleman, Richard Coleman and Keith Coleman, all of East Liverpool; a stepbrother, James Coleman of Marietta; 15 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Pastor Gaylord Clox of Grace Baptist Temple is to conduct services 10 a.m. Monday at Martin Funeral Home.
Burial is to be in Calcutta United Presbyterian Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
