Actor, Born in Leipzig, Germany, for over six decades he was an international stage, screen and television performer. He graduated from the Leipzig drama school and made his stage debut at the Bytom Theatre, Germany, in 1926. He made his big screen debut in "Only at the Rhine" (1930), followed by "Anne Marie, the Bride of the Company" (1932). Of his many films, he was best noted for "The Treatment of Dr. Mabuse" (1933), "Gentlemen in White Vests" (1969), "The Exorcist" (1973), "Kings of the Road" (1976) and "Suspiria" (1977). His television credits included the German series "Derrick", "Eurogang", "Sternensommer", "The Old Fox" and "Tatort". He died at age 82 in Munich, West Germany.
