Actress. Born in Southfields, Surrey, she had a long career as a British film and television performer. She made her screen debut in the silent film “The Man without a Soul” (1916), followed by “I Believe” (1916). Her many other film credits included “Scrooge” (1935), “He Found a Star” (1941), “A Voice in the Night” (1946), “The Safe Cracker” (1958), “El Cid” (1961) and “Rotten to the Core” (1965). For English TV she was a regular on the series “Little Women,” “Clementina,” “Jane Eyre,” “BBC Sunday Night Theatre” and "Dixon of Dock Green.”
