George married on 17 Oct 1876 at Hattersheim am Main, Hessen, Germany. His marriage record is at Ancestry.com and says he was born in the year 1852 and so do St. Bernard, Nebraska church records but his monument at the cemetery says the year was 1851. George's parents were Peter Huthmacher and Maria Eva Roth. They were from Sindlingen and deceased when George married.

George and Christina and their three eldest children emigrated to the U.S. on the steamship named Leipzig and arrived at Baltimore, Maryland on 15 May 1882. George purchased land in Granville Township, Platte County, Nebraska and farmed. He occupied his homestead until 1911 when he moved to the town of Humphrey, Nebraska.

St. Bernard (Nebraska) Catholic church records in 1881 listed the Huthmacher family:

Huthmacher, George Martin born 28 May 1852.
", Christina nat. Kaus born 22 Jan 1858.
", Louise born 15 Dec 1876 (Sr. Rogeria +).

In 1910, George took two daughters with him to Germany and visited George's brother, Franz Joseph Huthmacher Franz was burgermeister (mayor) of Sindlingen (near Frankfurt), Germany.
