Charles H. Ater, 90, of 1517 S. 34th st died 9:32 amTuesday March 6, 1984 in St. Marys hospital. Services will be 10 am Thursday in Dawson & Wikoff funeral home with visitation 5 to 8 pm Wednesday. Burial will be in Hewitt cemetery, Lovington,Memorials:Antioch Christian church.
Mr.Ater was born in Monticello, son of Byron and Margaret Ater. He was a retired farmer and a member of Antioch Christian church. He married Violet Marie Wiesendanger in 1923.
Surviving are his wife,sons,Charles F. and Warren L.both of Decatur, daughters,Norma Jackson of Decatur, Mrs.Carroll (June) Elliott of Lake City, 14 grandchidren, 13 great grandchildren.
