Dorothy Jean Harris Howard and Shurranda Howard, her daughter of 2407 Airacobra St., Levittown, Pa, departed this life Tuesday, April 28, 1981 in a tragic house fire.
Dorothy Jean, the daughter of James Harris and the late Carrie B. Cariller Harris was born in Tuskegee, Alabama on November 6, 1952. As a young child she moved to the Trevose area with her parents and in 1963 moved to the Bristol area.
After graduating from Delhaas High School, Jean was a hard worker and a loving mother of four beautiful daughters. She was a active member in community affairs and served on a part-time basis from 1974-79 as a receptionist at KBSI (Kingswood Betterment Society Inc.). Shurranda Tenise, her second eldest daughter was born December 27, 1976 at the Lower Bucks Hospital in Bristol, PA.
Dorothy leaves to mourn her companion Melvin Howard; three daughters, Alicia, Desiree and Amanda; her father, James Harris of Levittown; two sisters, Louise Sulu of Princeton, NJ and Dollie Hargrove of Germany; one brother, Lister Steve Harris of Bristol; her maternal grandmother, Hannah Webb of Levittown; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
