FORMER RESIDENT DIES AT DECATUR - Mrs. Amanda Burkhead, 75, Died at Adams County HospitalMrs. Amanda Burkhead, 75, a native of Wells county, died at the Memorial hospital in Decatur at 6:30 a.m. today following a three weeks' illness of flu and pneumonia. Mrs. Burkhead was born in Wells county, January 26, 1853, to Trader and Elizabeth Ball.Surviving are the husband, M. F. Burkhead, of Decatur, eight children and a sister, Mrs. Frank Klick, of Decatur. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, with burial in the Ray cemetery west of Monroe

AMANDA BURKHEAD DIES AT DECATUR
Native of Wells County Dies At Adams County Hospital
Mrs. Amanda Burkhead, 75, wife of M. F. Burkhead, of Decatur, passed away at the Adams County Hospital at 6:30 o'clock this morning after a three weeks illness. Death was attributed to influenza, resulting in pneumonia. She was taken to the hospital Monday where her condition grew rapidly worse. She was born in Wells county, January 26, 1853, the daughter of Trader and Elizabeth Ball. Her parents died when she was quite young and she moved to Adams county with relatives. She was married fifty-five years ago today to M. F. Burkhead.
Surviving are the following children: John, of Decatur; Mrs. Ona Hines of Portland; Mrs. Marie Bowser of Coldwater, Mich.; Mrs. Pearl Ballard of Battle Creek, Mich.; Martin, of Sturgis, Mich.; Edward of Lafayette, Ind.; Mrs. Harriet Hower of Decatur and Jess of Fort Wayne.One sister, Mrs. Frank Click, resides in Decatur.
