So far, I've been unable to verify the initial, which looks to me like a C. on the tombstone photo. I've found it both ways C and G online.
Apparently somewhere on ancestry he is John George Trapp (1870-1890), I found this and others before I updated mine.

I've also been unable to find the mentioned census and because he and his mother are both in Galena cemetery doesn't mean he died in Cherokee County, KS.
I'm still looking for information on him and his parents. It might be possible his father is also in the Galena cemetery without a marker or the marker is unreadable or gone.

William T. Trapp, son of John and Mary Ann (Brockett) Trapp, first married Louisa (Merry) Trapp on 26 Dec 1861 in Effingham County, IL. and died the 20 August 1865. There were no known children born to this marriage.
William T. Trapp remarried in 1870 to Rosanne Flemmer in Clark County, IL but cannot yet be found in the Federal census. William and Roseanna's son, John G. Trapp is listed in census records as having been born in IL in 1871 and there is no record of them in Kansas in 1875. So, it is assumed they were still in IL at that time.
