Born September 13th, 1944 in Fort Wayne, he served in the Navy in 1962 thru 1965. When he returned home he was employed by International Harvester. Jerry started in the trade at Jose Color Plate, when it closed he went to work for Precision Litho in Fort Wayne. Moving to Knoxville, TN he was a production manager for Precision Litho until 1989. In June of 1990 Jerry started his own business, Excell Color Graphics Inc. in Fort Wayne. After 16 successful years he sold his business but due to his thriving ambition he remained on as a consultant. Jerry's life was graciously extended 6 years after receiving a donor heart from Lutheran Hospital. Jerry loved entertaining his friends and family, he enjoyed playing basketball, pool, bowling, and fishing, but most of all his passion was cars. We will miss his sense of humor, his passion for life, and his kind heart.
He is survived by his wife, Hilda Blaising of Fort Wayne; children, Chuck Belcher of Altamonte Springs., FL, and Angelic Belcher of Fort Wayne; twin sister, Jenny (Gaylor) Ramsey; brother, Patric (Anne) Blaising; sister, Pam (Dave) Boon and several nieces & nephews; best friends, Chuck Trowbridge, Tom Parrot and his dog Toby. He was preceded in death by his brother Mike Blaising and his parents, Louis and Helen Blaising.
Service is 10 a.m. Monday at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 E Dupont Road with calling one hour prior, Pastor Rick Hawks officiating. Calling also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial in Spring Creek, South Whitley.
