Last rites held March 17th for Mrs. Biggers

Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie Carter Biggers were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 17, at Moore Memorial Methodist Church.

Officiating was Rev. Leo Bailey, assisted by Mr. Dan Beardain. Burial was in the Kilmichael Cemetery, with Oliver Funeral Home in charge of arrangements

Mrs. Biggers died at the Golden Age Nursing Home in Greenwood the previous Friday night, following an extended illness. She was 84 years old. A native of Carroll County, she was married to the late Steve L. Biggers. She was a member of Moore Memorial church.

Survivors are four sons, Steve T. Biggers, Kilmichael: Marcus D. Biggers, Allen B. Biggers, and William M. Biggers, all of Greenwood; five daughters, Mrs. Leola Holmes, Mrs. Clyde Swindoll, Mrs. Mildred Pittman, Mrs. Rebecca Thompson, all of Winona, and Mrs. Rachel Chandler, Greenwood; three sisters, Mrs. L. B. Austin, and Mrs. G. A. Carwile, both of Winona, and Mrs. J. W. Stovall, Memphis.

She had 20 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Joe Swindoll, Steve Biggers, Mike Biggers, Robert Biggers, Tommy Biggers, Paul Swindoll, Sam Pittman, Jimmy Thompson and Bailey Chandler.
