Howard married Ila Elaine Williams November 6, 1947 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were blessed with and raised two sons, Steven Morgan and Alan Morgan. Elaine tragically passed away April 16, 1989.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Elizabeth; brothers, Newell and Malcom; his sister, Marcia; and his wife, Elaine.
He married Bette Day Davis September 9, 1989.
Howard is survived by his wife, Bette D. Morgan of Soda Springs, ID; his brother, Rodney Morgan, Fruit Heights; his sons, Steven Morgan, Henderson, NV; Alan (Marsha) Morgan, Kaysville, UT; Michael (AnaLuisa) Davis, San Antonio, TX; daughter, Michele (Mark) Robbins, Soda Springs, ID; along with eight grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Howard spent most of his life in Layton. He graduated from Davis High School and attended Utah State. Howard volunteered (with his best friend Jay Harris) for the Army Air Corps during World War II where they flew B-24 Bombers on missions over much of Europe. Howard was employed at Hill Air Force Base and retired after 35 years of service. Howard was an avid horseman in his younger days. He enjoyed competitive calf roping in rodeos and was also a member of the Davis County Mounted Sheriff's Posse for many years.
His most astounding qualities were his sense of humor, his sparkling eyes, unbridled generosity, work ethic, and his unbounded optimism. Howard NEVER complained about anything or spoke ill of anyone. The world is a much brighter place because of Howard, and his life can serve as an inspiration for all of us. He will certainly NOT be forgotten. "We will always LOVE you Dad!!!!"
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 18, 2007, 11 a.m. at the Layton Lindquist's Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd. Friends may call Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m., and Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
