A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 8, 2007, at Thompsonville Church in Thompsonville, Texas.
He was born on January 13, 1930 in Waelder, Texas, to Jeff and Sadie Davis. In his life, Dave Davis traveled two unique career paths -- one as a Mining Geologist with Dow Chemical, and the other as a Math teacher at Shiner High School, both of which he loved.
In his teaching career, as well as with Dow Chemical, he touched and enriched the lives of many through his friendship, caring, and intellect.
He particularly cheished his years in teaching and all of his students. He was a very caring and giving person, and in light of that, he has chosen to donate his body to science for study, in hopes that some knowledge can be gained from our loss.
Survivors include his wife Bonnie Davis; three sons -- David Davis, Jeff Davis, and Tim Davis; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers -- Wayne Davis and Johnny Davis; and his sisters -- Arlene and Merle.
His ashes was put in the Thompsonville Cemetery by his parents.
This obituary was from the Shiner Paper.
