PHOENIX, Ariz. — Charles Anthony Adkins, 49, of Phoenix, formerly of Beckley, passed away Friday, Oct. 5, 2007, following a short illness.
Born Jan. 6, 1958, in Raleigh County, he was the son of Agnes Carte Adkins of Beckley and the late Alvie Adkins, Sr.
Charles was a general contractor.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a daughter, Rachel Parsons and husband, Billy Mac, of Texas; a brother, Alvie Adkins Jr. and wife, Loydia, of Chino Valley, Ariz.; three sisters, Joyce Weis and husband, Teddy, of Terry, Lynn Adkins of Piney View and Vanessa Jones and husband, David, of Beckley; a granddaughter, Alexis Parsons of Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
Service will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at Smathers Funeral Chapel, Rai-nelle, with Preacher Ronnie Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery, Corliss.
Friends may call 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations of sympathy be made to the C.A. Adkins Burial Fund, 110 Melrose Lane, Beckley, WV 25801.
