Brockton, Mass. - Mary Rosella (Kent) Avery, 83, formerly of Brattleboro, Vt.,died Jan. 6, 1995, after a long illness. She was born in Dummerston, Vt. on Sept. 26, 1911, the daughter of William H. and Rosilla (Aldrich) Kent. She was married to Harold Avery, who died in 1941. She lived in Brattleboro, Worcester, Spencer, and most recently in Brockton. She was formerly employed in shoe shops in Worcester and Spencer. She enjoyed crocheting. She is survived by a daughter, Rosemary Gazerro, a nurse at Brockton Hospital; and a son, Raymond Avery of Carver, superintendent of the Whitman - Hanson Regional High School in Whitman. Another son, Harold Avery, died two years ago. She also is survived by 30 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; two brothers, William Kent of Desert Hot Springs, Calif., and Richard Kent of Lagrangeville, N.Y.; two sisters, Mabel Brown of Bernardston, and Rosella Desbiens of Hamden, Conn.; and several nieces and nephews. A memoral service will be held today at 11:30 a.m. at Dahlbergmac Nevin Funeral Home, 647 Main St., Brockton. Burial will be in Paxton. There will be no calling hours.
