Elvira L. Boyer, 79, of Harmar Township, died Wednesday, June 27, 2007, at Woodside Place in Oakmont. She was born June 4, 1928, in Tarentum, to the late Herbert and Lucy Fassett Emanuelson, and has been a lifelong area resident.

She formerly was employed in the Fabric Department at Hart's Department Store in New Kensington, and was a member of the Springdale United Methodist Church.

For years, Mrs. Boyer volunteered with the Lower Valley Meals-on-Wheels.

Survivors include two daughters, Glenna L. (Samuel) Renaldi, of Springdale, Carol (David) Vogel, of Harmar Township; two sons, Douglas K. (Kimberly) Boyer, of Parma, Ohio, and Jeffrey K. (Mary Beth) Boyer, of Seven Hills, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Laurie (Shawn) Carey, Kelly Kuchta, Jennifer Kuchta and fiance Justin Betts, Dallas (Kristen) Boyer, Mitchell Boyer, Kurt Boyer and Kraig Boyer; four great-grandchildren, Samuel Glenn Carey, Marie Carey, Kalynn Grace Kuchta and Riley John Betts; two sisters, Jean Kozier, of Monroeville, and Beverly Dixon, of Cheswick; and a brother, Arthur (Betty) Emanuelson, of Tarentum.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert Glenn Boyer; three brothers, Leonard, Walter and Carl Emanuelson; and two sisters, Eileen Emanuelson and Lillian Harman.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Cheswick at the CHARLES B. JARVIE FUNERAL HOME where services will be held 11 a.m. Monday with burial to follow in Deer Creek Cemetery, Harmar Township.
