Julia A. Hall was born June 1st, 1826, at Fredericktown, Ohio. She came to Illinois in 1840 and was married to Reuben R. DeBord in the year 1843. They resided for a time near Kickapoo, later for a few years on what is now the Samuel Morrow place, one half mile north of Princeville, and then removing in 1858 to the homestead farm, two-and-one-half miles west and one mile north of Princeville, where they resided for many years, and reared eleven children. Twenty-six years ago, they retired from the arm and moved into the Village of Princeville. Mr. DeBord died in May, 1891, since which time the mother and her daughter, Harriet, have resided together, the latter caring for her in her last illness.
Mrs. DeBord was a woman of a retiring disposition, seldom leaving her home, but to those who knew her, she will be remembered as a woman of great kindness of heart and amiability, a good neighbor, a faithful wife, a mother whose children can truly call blessed.
Mrs. DeBord was the mother of eleven children, all of whom survive her and were present at the funeral. They are; William H., Charles W., and Frederick, all of Maitland, Mo., Mrs. May Hurd, Des Moines, Iowa, Mrs. Clara Sanford, San Francisco, Cal., Henry, Frank, Albert Burk, Mrs. Emma Gladfelter, Mrs. Ella Wear and Harriett, all of Princeville.
The funeral was conducted today from the Presbyterian Church, by John F. Bliss, and the interment took place at the Princeville Cemetery.
