Dorothy Laverne Booth Baynum, 83, of Demossville, died Friday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was a homemaker, a past worthy matron of Order of the Eastern Star Rosebud Chapter No. 39 and a member of Gardnersville Christian Church and Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary No. 19. Her husband, Wallace Elsworth, died in 2002. A son, Wallace Elsworth Baynum Jr., died in 1972.
Survivors include sons, Norman Baynum and James Baynum, both of Florence, Grant Austin of Liberty and Barry Austin of Covington; daughters, Sandra Lee Runck, Darla Collins and Sue Hurst, all of Pendleton County, and Martha Dotson of Dry Ridge; a sister, Donna Hopkins of Crittenden; 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Florence. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Gardnersville Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society, 6612 Dixie Highway, Suite 2A, Florence, Ky. 41042.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Elsworth Baynum after 62 years of marriage in 2002, her son, Wallace Elsworth Baynum, Jr. in 1972, and three granddaughters, Natia Baynum, in 1982, Anita Lynn Baynum, in 1998 and Sandra Michelle Hurst in 2001.
