Myrtle Jensen Quinney
January 4, 1905 - April 23, 2007
Myrtle Jensen Quinney was born in Phears Community in Lee County on January 4, 1905, to Charlie and Carrie Belle Clemons Jensen. She passed away on April 23, 2007 at Oakland Manor Nursing Home in Giddings, having attained the age of 102 years. Rev. Charles Salmon will conduct the funeral service on Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Grove Christian Church in Forest Grove.
Mrs. Quinney will be laid to rest in the Lexington Cemetery beside her husband Ernest C. "Buck" Quinney. She and Buck were married on January 13, 1926. The minister married them during a rainstorm in their car at the south side of the Lexington United Methodist Church. Buck preceded her in death on January 29, 1978. Also preceding her in death were her parents, grandchildren: Neal Louis Knipstein and Gina Rae Quinney; brother, Charles Marvin "Pete" Jensen and sisters: Maudie Dismukes, Clara Mathis and Madie Reed.
She is survived by her son, E.R. "Amos" Quinney and wife Elaine of Lexington; daughter, Jessie "Deckie" Knipstein and husband Louis of Lexington; granddaughters: Tana Renfroe and husband Ned and Trina Edwards and husband Jack all of Lexington, and great grandson Timothy Neal Edwards.
Serving as pallbearers are Timothy Edwards, Ray Maass, Gerald Mathis, Terry Mathis, Don Mathis, and Keith Mathis. All her other nephews are serving as honorary pallbearers.
Mrs. Quinney was a member of Forest Grove Christian Church. Memorials may be made to the Lexington Cemetery, P.O. Box 426, Lexington, Texas 78947
