This is my Momma.

Rebecca "Becky" is the daughter of Clyde Allen Monteith and Elda Hatt and was born in Rock Springs, Sweetwater Co., Wyoming on 23rd April 1949. Becky is the second of three children. Her older brother Richard Alan Monteith passed away in 2001 in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Mom was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in several different positions, particularly as an advisor for the 14 and 15 year old Young Women, a position she held for several years. She also offered her time as a assistant in the Family History Center, helping people learn to do their genealogy work. Mom didn't drive, and would have to take the bus to the Family History Center. One hour each way. She didn't mind as she loved genealogy and helping people discover their own history.

Mom was married 25 years to John M. Brown and was the mother of Kenneth M Brown and Kimberly A Brown. She also has a deceased infant, Linda Sue Haswell
Linda Sue Haswell, from previous marriage. She was an excellent mother and grandmother. She has 3 grandchildren: Kody, Kylee and Gabriella. She married Robert "Bob" Kane in January of 2001. He predeceased her by 9 months from a motorcycle accident.

My mother died suddenly from a pulmonary embolisim, a blood clot the may have traveled from her legs to her heart and lung. Although she is gone, I find peace that her passing took minutes and she didn't linger from a long illness. I just wish the last time I saw her I knew it would be the last time, I would have hugged her longer and harder than I had.
