Charles F. Elze, 84, dies in California: Charles F. Elze of Pomona, Calif., a native of Westcliffe, died Saturday, Nov. 6, in a hospital in Pomona. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Elze of Westcliffe. He was 84 years old. Mr. Elze was born May 18, 1887 in Westcliffe and attended school here. He moved to California in 1942. Survivors include his wife, two sons and a daughter; four brothers, Otto Elze and Arnold Elze of Westcliffe, Gottlieb Elze of Pueblo and Fred Elze of Royal, Iowa; four sisters, Mrs. Susie Schwartz of Canon City, Mrs. Selma Lensch of Westcliffe, Mrs. Bertha Fischer of Denver and Mrs. Lena Rogers of Santa Fe, NM; eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Pomona - Charles F. Elze of 1052 E. Mission Blvd. died Saturday in Pomona convalescent hospital after 14 months of illness. Mr. Elze was born May 18, 1887, in Westcliffe, Colorado. He came to California in 1942 and lived in Santa Rose before moving to Pomona in 1955. Survivors include his widow: Ida May; two sons, Karl of Carmichael and Walter of Pomona; a daughter, Mrs. Pearl Cirelli of Redwood City; four brothers, Otto and Arnold of Westcliffe, Gottlieb of Pueblo, Colo. and Fred of Royal, Iowa; four sisters, Mrs. Susie Schwartz of Canon City, Colo., Mrs. Selma Lensch of Westcliffe, Mrs. Bertha Fischer of Denver, and Mrs. Lena Rogers of Santa Fe, NM; eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Tuesday in Todd Memorial Chapel Pomona, with the Rev. Clinton Helstab officiating. Private entombment will follow in Pomona Mausoleum.
