Alice Lee was the daughter of Lawson and Ruth (Carmack)Kemp. She grew up in Murray and graduated from Graham High School and Texas Woman's University in Denton with a Bachelor's degree in home economics. She lived in Anson for three months before moving to Roby in 1955 where she resided the remainder of her life.

She worked for the Texas A&M Extension Service in Fisher County as a home economist until her retirement.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Roby for 50 years and played the organ for 32 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Sara James and Doris Maygarden; and two nephews.

Survivors at time of death included two sisters and a brother-in-law, George Ann Chenault of Graham and Beth and Terry Covey of Granbury; and six nieces and nephews and their spouses.
