Violet was the wife of Franklin Dobson. Daughter of Henry Banner King and Suzannah Nancy Danley-King.

Violet King married Franklin Dobson , about 1831 in Indiana. Violet was the daughter of Henry Banner King and Suzannah Nancy Danley-King.

They had 5 daughters and 2 sons:

Crawford Dobson, b. 26 SEP 1834, Morgan Co., Indiana;
John Maurier Dobson, b. 7 NOV 1839, Illinois;
Anna (Annie) Eliza Dobson, b. FEB 1844, Illinois;
Clarissa Jane Dobson, b. 15 FEB 1845, Champaign Co., IL.;
Mary C. Dobson, b. 27 OCT 1847, Illinois;
Margaret Ella Dobson, b. 1849, Illinois.

In the late 1830's, Violet and her husband Franklin and their young family (children Emily, Crawford and John) moved from Indiana to Champaign County, Illinois where he worked as a Wagon-mule team driver. Franklin hauled wheat over 100 miles to Chicago for 35 cents a bushell, and brought back salt for $10 a barrell.

Franklin and Violet also were farmers in Champaign County in the 1850's and 60's. Then sometime before 1870, They moved to Glenwood Township, in Schuyler County, Missouri, where Franklin worked as a "Grocer".

They moved again, prior to 1880, to Bloomington in Mc Lean County, Illinois, and in 1885, they lived in Sycamore, Montgomery County, Kansas, two doors away from their daughter Annie Eliza Dobson-Marsters and her husband Luther Marsters.

A year or two later, they moved to Neodesha in Wilson County, Kansas, nearby their daughter Clarissa Jane Dobson-Whitesell and her husband John Whitesell.

Franklin died there in 1888, and was burried at the Varner Cemetery in Neodesha, Kansas. Violet later moved to Eugene Oregon, where she lived until her death in 1897.
