Abbey Funeral
At Galena Will
Be Tomorrow
Galena, Kan., Sept. 4. ----Funeral services for Mrs. Lucy M. Abbey, 71 years old, who died Saturday afternoon in St. John's hospital at Joplin, where she had been a patient more than a year, will be conducted at 9 o'clock Tuesday morning at St. Patrick's Catholic church, with the Rev. A B. Dziemian, pastor, in charge. Burial will be in Hill Crest Cemetery under direction of the Poteet funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Fred Wyatt, Jr., Howard Price, C. M. Capelli, Roy Madden and Howard Ellington of Galena and Marion Dixon of Baxter Springs.
ROSARY TONIGHT
Rosary will be recited at 7:30 o'clock tonight at the home, 1212 Wall street, by Joseph Abraham, Jr.
The body will be taken to the home at 1 o'clock this afternoon to lie in state until the funeral hour. Mrs. Abbey, widow of Harry Abbey prominent Galena business-man, who died here in 1942, had resided in Galena fifty-three years. She was a native of Potosi, Mo. She was a charter member of the Galena Women's Club and was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
Surviving are three sons, Harry Abbey of Baxter Springs, Dan Abbey of Galena and William J. Abbey of Columbus; two daughters, Mrs. Raymond Swaney and Miss Roseanne Abbey of Galena, one sister, Mrs. Laura McNabb of St. Louis; a brother, John White of St. Louis; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild.
