Civil War Medal of Honor Recipient. Served in the Civil War as a Private in Company G, 95th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry. He was awarded the CMOH for his bravery at Alsops Farm, Virginia on May 8, 1864. His citation simply reads "Voluntarily held an important position under heavy fire". His Medal was issued on October 24, 1895.
