Indian Campaigns Medal of Honor Recipient. Served during the Indian Wars as a Sergeant in Company L, 5th United States Cavalry. He was awarded the CMOH for his bravery at Apache Creek, Arizona on April 2, 1874. His citation simply reads "Gallantry in action". His Medal was issued on April 12, 1875.
