Mrs. Ashmore was born on October 24, 1918 in Bartow County and was the daughter of George T. Conway and Hester Adeline Hunnicutt Conway, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bealon Ashmore; four brothers, Jake Conway, J. R. Conway, Sam Conway and Ben Conway; and two sisters, Pauline Conway and Mary Hall. She was a Certified Public Accountant and a graduate of Martha Berry College, where she served as Martha Berry's private nurse to help pay her tuition. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Tifton, had lived in Tifton for 80 years. She was an avid animal lover and a caring person, taking food that was left over from family gatherings to Brother Charlie's for the residents there to enjoy.
Mrs. Ashmore is survived by one brother-in-law, Buddy Ashmore of Haleyville, Alabama; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Conway of Tifton and Jean Harbin of Winfield, Alabama; a special friend, Viola Chambers; and several nieces and nephews, who received birthday presents from Ms. Ashmore every year, since she didn't have children of her own.
